John married Annie Calow about Sep 1895 in Chorlton reg district. Annie (daughter of James Calow and Mary Ann Rocliffe) was born between 01 Jan and 31 Mar 1872 in Manchester; died between 01 Jul and 30 Sep 1938 in Manchester South Registration District. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

The Annie Calow who married James Limbert is assumed to be the daughter of James Calow even though the marriage certificate says that her father was William Calow, labourer. According to the censuses she was born in Manchester but no William Calow is known in Manchester. Because her father died when she was 3 or 4 she may have been uncertain about who he was, hence invented details on the marriage certificate. The age given is correct. No other Annie Calow birth was registered at the same time.

3. Benjamin Limbert was born on 03 Aug 1896 in USA; died between 01 Apr and 30 Jun 1976 in Macclesfield Registration District.

Notes:

In 1901 census a grandchild Herbert, age 9 is living with them (next door to John James). There is no birth registered for this child. He could be the son of either John James or Drusilla, but should be living with Drusilla and her husband. In the 1911 census this child (presumably) is called Herbert Burnes (Burns, according to the birth register) and is a boarder with Druscilla and her husband. He was probably the illigitimate child of Druscilla.

Benjamin married Alice Unknown between 01 Jul and 30 Sep 1868 in Manchester Registration District. Alice was born between Apr 1847 and Apr 1848 in Middleton, Lancashire; died between 01 Oct and 31 Dec 1905 in Chorlton Registration District. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
