    On last visit to Macclesfield was staying with T H Lunt, cousin, The cottage, Broken Cross, Macclesfield.

    Emigrated to work as a pipefitter on the locks which were being built at Lockport, Manitoba. He bought the land and founded Lester Beach, a resort on Lake Winnipeg.
    Built the first school in the area and daughter Maud taught there from 1944 to 1960.
    Worked with his brother Percy as a quarryman in Ireland from 1898 to 1901.
    The Lesters were one of the first pioneer families at Belair, Manitoba. They originally settled at Mapleton near Selkirk, Manitoba.
    The family home was completed in 1923.
