In 1861 census he is shown both at Frome (occupation: linen draper, born at Carlingford, Co. Louth) and as a lodger at Ross, Herefordshire (occupation: hawker, born at Carlingford, Co. Louth).
It is clear that he was a travelling irish salesman selling woolen goods.
Date of birth inferred from death certificate is 1811/12
Son, Thomas' marriage announcement says Bernard was 'of Waterford' although he was deceased.Bernard married Sarah A Twite on 01 Oct 1850 in Bath Registration District.
