    Does not appear in the 1901 census but his wife is listed as wife of the head of household.
    In 1911 census, he was living with his daughter and said to be married.

    The address at which he died was (1911) and may still have been the Oldham Union Workhouse. It may have been a hospital in 1927 because he died after an operation.

    John married Mary Jane Hunt on 24 May 1885 in Oldham. Mary (daughter of Thomas Hunt and Mary Briscoe) was born on 28 Nov 1864 in Bloxwich, Staffordshire; died on 29 Apr 1924 in Montreal. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Notes:

    In 1881 census was a domestic servant to a joiner and wheelwright at North Road, Clowne, and birthplace is given as Blakenall, which is part of or adjoining Bloxwich.

    Between the 1901 and 1911 censuses (probably about 1905) she emigrated to Canada with lodger Edward Flanaghan and his daughter Julia. taking her daughters Bertha and Ethel with her.
