Death certificate states wife of Herbert Lester, occupation unknown, which suggests that he may still have been alive but estranged from his wife.
In 1901 census she was living on her own and her status is given as 'single'!
The electoral registers show her living in Linhope Street at least since 1930. She is not listed at that address before then.
